We Need Your Help

Valley United Way needs your help. Each month you receive our newsletter with stories from all across our community. These stories highlight:

  • The successes from our partner agencies
  • Our collaborations with community organizations to host Corporate Cup, Leadership Greater Valley and Labor Rapid Response
  • The volunteer projects made available to companies looking to lend a hand put together from the hard work of our Volunteer Center and Corporate Volunteer Council
  • Our tremendous youth leaders giving back to the community and growing to become future leaders of our Valley.

These stories represent what Valley United Way is all about, who we are, and what we do. Donors make our work possible; we can't continue without your support. If you have not made your donation this year, or think you may be able to give just a little bit more, please do. We are looking to raise $1,050,000 by the end of 2013. In the spring these funds will be allocated to our 25 partner agencies that are helping prepare our youth for success, who are ensuring that all Valley residents have access to basic needs, to step in during times of crisis, and to help strengthen our Valley families. These funds will allow our Corporate Volunteer Council to continue organizing projects like Back to School Clothes for Kids and Harvest House,  will help make certain that we can take on another class of Youth Leaders, to run the High School Volunteer Council, and to create a better life for all those living and working in the Valley.

Please help by making a gift to Valley United Way's Annual Community Campaign. You can give online by following this link, you can print out a donation card here and mail it to us at 54 Grove Street, Shelton, CT 06484 or you can call us at (203) 926-9478 and we will process a credit card over the phone. Please don't let us down; our community is counting on you!

Where Your Dollar Goes

The Board of Directors at Valley United Way is very pleased to announce the first grants under the new Special Issues Grant Program. Earlier this year, the Board identified early childhood education as an especially important issue in the Valley and set aside $25,000 for programs designed to have an impact on the issue. Requests from several Valley groups were received, and after a thorough review by the Allocations Committee, the Board has awarded three grants.
