The Great Give!

Valley United Way will be participating in TheGreat Give 2013 from 8 AM on Wednesday, October 2 to 8 PM on Thursday, October 3.  The Valley Community Foundation and the Community Foundation for Greater New Haven have set aside money for a matching pool and grant prizes.

The Valley Community Foundation has set aside a pool of $20,000.00 to match all donations made by Valley donors (residing or working in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour or Shelton) during the 36-hour period of The Great Give 2013.  Donations will receive a 1:1 match of gifts of $25.00-$125.00 until the pool of money is depleted.

HARVEST HOUSE V - A Great Success

"Harvest House" was held September 28th and 29th at the Shelton Riverwalk, 100 Canal Street, Shelton. Valley United Way's Harvest House is a biennial festival during which a 400-square-foot house is constructed out of shelves and filled with more than 100,000 nonperishable food items. The food that is collected is then distributed to food banks serving Ansonia, Derby, Seymour, Shelton, and Oxford.

Thanks to the generous donations of companies, community members, and volunteers, families in need are now able to thrive rather than go hungry. Check out the full story, lots of pictures and even a couple of videos here
