HARVEST HOUSE V Will Be the Best Ever
| Harvest House is a signature event for Valley United Way and the Corporate Volunteer Council, and it gets bigger and better every time we do it. Harvest House V will be built on Saturday, September 28, but the CVC has a full weekend of activities on tap to help bring the entire community to the Riverwalk in Shelton to participate in a unique effort to alleviate hunger in the Valley. Volunteers will be all over the Riverwalk and the Rotary Pavilion building a house made of food. However, you can only see it on Saturday and Sunday because on Monday it will be dismantled and all the food used to build it will be carted off to area food banks to fill the shelves with approximately 100,000 new items of food. Click here to see the full schedule of events for the weekend.

Back to School Project Clothed 160
|
It may be a bit of a cliche, but every year the Corporate Volunteer Council shows the wisdom in the saying 'it takes a village to raise a child." The only difference is that in place of the village, we could substitute CVC and in place of a child, we could say children - many children as in 160 children in Seymour this year. That's how many needy children returned to school in Seymour this year with big smiles on their faces, shiny new clothes, and a backpack full of the tools of education. You really do need to read more about this incredible project by clicking here.
