Larry recognizes that the quality of life in the communities that he services is also very important for his employees and for his clients. As a result, Basement Systems is not only a leader in its core businesses, but also a leader in its community involvement. One of those involvements has been with United Way where they have run a successful United Way campaign for a number of years and have won numerous United Way awards. They have also been leaders on United Way's Corporate Volunteer Council which conducts hands-on volunteer projects using business volunteers to support local non-profit health and human services.  Valley United Way Meets Membership Requirements for 2013
Valley United Way is pleased to announce that it has once again met all of the membership standards required by United Way Worldwide to be certified as an affiliated United Way. Each United Way must annually certify their adherence to standards that include comprehensive requirements for financial reporting, governance, ethics, diversity and operations.

A Slice of Hope for CMT: A Pie Night Fundraiser
The event is taking place on Friday, September 13, 2013, 6pm at the White Hills Fire House, 2 School Street, Shelton, CT.
Volunteers needed to help set up the fire house, clean up after the event, help sell raffle tickets that night, help coordinate the food and desserts.
Meet there a bit before the event to discuss specific needs.

4th Annual Shelton Wheel-Walk To Work
September 14 10 am - 4 pm
Volunteers will be needed for set up and tear down, assisting in our Kids Fun Zone, distributing lawn signs throughout the Valley, manning the registration booth, raffle area, water stations, donation bucket management, distributing sponsorship signs throughout the course, assisting child and adults with disabilities moving around the various food, entertainment, educational and arts and crafts venues and much more.
