Corporate Cup Finishing with a Flurry of Activity

Run/Walk is June 12th!

The 2013 Community Corporate Cup will come to a conclusion with the final event of the year - the Valley YMCA Sunset 5K Road Race & 2 Mile Walk. The Corporate Cup event is included in the popular week-night race put on by the Valley YMCA and sponsored by Naugatuck Savings Bank. The race will be held at the John G. Prendergast School in Ansonia and is a relatively flat course.

BIC Rolls to Bocce Win

It took two days, but BIC's Sarah Donaldson and Steve Filanowski went undefeated and held off a strong challenge from two teams from Fletcher Thompson to win the 2013 Corporate Cup Bocce Tournament. Click here for the full story and lots of pictures.

CDW-G Wins at Wiffleball

CDW's Fred Wills, Matt Carey and Matt Zrallack are the 2013 Champs.

CDW's Warning Track Power team won the 2013 Community Corporate Cup Wiffleball Tournament by showing they could crush an opponent or squeeze by in a tight one with their main competition coming from another CDW team, The Big Sticks. Warning Track Power went undefeated in the tourney and beat The Big Sticks 1-0 in the final game after also having beaten them 2-1 in the earlier winners' bracket final. Fred Wills pitched the shutout and collected the only run of the game with his second inning home run (See video).

With only one event left to finish the 2013 Community Corporate Cup only two points separate the top two teams - CDWG and BIC. CDWG is looking to recapture the crown they won in 2011 while BIC is looking for their first title.

Awards Reception

The winner of the 2013 Community Corporate Cup will be announced at the annual Awards Reception hosted by Griffin Hospital on June 27 at 5:30 pm. Watch for registration information shortly on the Corporate Cup website.
