Hubbell Results Boost Campaign

We've been extremely busy trying to tabulate all of the campaign results in time for the annual meeting. We received a major boost the other day when John McFarland dropped by with Hubbell's corporate donation. When we added that to the employee giving and their special events, the final tally was over $102,000. Thank you Hubbell - and all the other great donors this year. We're looking forward to presenting many campaign awards at the Annual Meeting & Recognition Dinner on the 23rd.
Youth Leadership Program begins 24th Year

We've got 25 students from nine area high schools in this year's program, and they just spent a team building weekend at Camp Jewell in Colebrook. Click here to find out who they are.

Valley United Way and the
Derby-Shelton Rotary Team Up to
Promote Unique Project
Last year Valley United Way was part of a unique collaborative that helped local food banks with an emergency grant of $24,000 to get them through a period of major shortages. Building on that experience, Valley United Way and the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club are partnering for a "hands-on" project that they expect to make a major difference in many lives. Click here to learn more.
CDW "Darts" to Corporate Cup Lead

Joe Simone and Anthony Defala
CDW is out to regain the Corporate Cup title that they captured two years ago, and after Joe Simone and Anthony Defala won the Darts Tournament, they find themselves atop the 2013 standings. Click here to read more about their win and see the full results.

We've also added a new "bonus" to this year's competition in the form of pedometers for all participants and a challenge to put them to work.
Read more here.

This is an especially busy time for the Corporate Cup as Griffin Hospital just hosted the Healthy Dinner last week and is in the midst of their "Healthy U Tuesday Talks" where Healthy Team participants can earn more bonus points.

Next up on the schedule is the first ever Corporate Cup "Cornhole Tournament" on April 16. We want to thank the students in the Carpentry Shop at Emmett O'Brien Regional Tech for constructing our cornhole boards for this new event which will be held at the "Y".
