Corporate Cup Begins Monday

Healthy Team Pre-Testing Begins at Griffin Hospital
The 2013 Griffin Hospital Community Corporate Cup begins Monday with the start of pre-testing for the most important part of the Corporate Cup - The Healthy Team Competition. The teams will be heading for Griffin to have a variety of tests done to get a baseline score.

Over the next three months, they will have the opportunity to earn points for a wide variety of healthy activities. All participants must be pre-registered and bring their physician's consent form with them to the testing. For more information, click here.

Healthy Team is just one of nine separate events in this year's Corporate Cup series. There is a considerable savings in cost to register as a Full Team instead of paying for each event separately.

Applications Now Available for Youth Leadership Program
YL
Valley United Way is now accepting applications for the 2013-2014 Youth Leadership Program which is open to high school students from all the Valley towns. Now in its 24th year, the program is designed to develop teens into future community leaders. They learn about community needs in the Valley and the importance of nonprofit agencies and the role volunteerism plays in addressing those needs. Enrollment in the program is limited.  Click here for more information and the application.

Costs for this program are underwritten by generous grants from the Raymond P. Lavietes Foundation and The Prudential Foundation. We'll have more on that in the next newsletter.
