Monitoring Progress: A Report to Stakeholders

Thursday, February 20 marks the five-year anniversary of our district's Framework for Our Future 2.0 conference where district stakeholders shared their values and ideas about the future of DASD. The board of education is sponsoring a follow-up meeting for 2009 participants, in addition to others who are interested in learning about and providing feedback on the district's progress.  Community input and involvement are vital to the success of this planning.  You are invited to be a part of this extraordinary process.  Visit the DASD website for more information, including:
  • A summary of the 2009 conference

  • Details about the February 20 event

Again, anyone can attend this February 20 event, not just those who attended in 2009.  RSVP's are needed by February 12. Contact Ann Stettbacher: astettbacher@deforestschools.org or 842-6582.  (Due to preparation of materials, seating and food - please no walk-ins.)

Looking for spring/summer activities for kids?

Community and school organizations are beginning to post information about spring and summer activities on our district's Community Flyers webpage. Our district offers non-profit organizations this opportunity to communicate with students and parents throughout the year. An updated list of these flyers is emailed to all DASD families on the 15th and 30th of the month.

Drug Prevention Awareness Presentation, February 25

The DeForest Area School District and DeForest Police Department will host one more AODA (Alcohol & Other Drug Awareness) presentation for the DeForest area community at 6 pm on Feb. 25 at DAHS. According to DeForest Police Chief Robert Henze, "It is important to provide awareness and preventive educational material so parents and others can learn the trends and try to stop a loved one from making major life altering decisions. These presentations are purposely focused on warning signs/red flags and steps to take when these signs are noticed."  More information
