LEARN TOGETHER

Play is a child's work! That's why your TEIS therapists strive to make therapy fun by encouraging learning through play, following your child's lead and imbedding your child's goals into his/her daily routines. Play begins in infancy and parents need to make time in their own busy daily schedules to play with their children. Play does not have to be well thought out, it should be both spontaneous and fun. Even though you may not realize it, your child is learning so many new skills through play. Your child develops cognitive, language, social, gross/fine motor and self-help skills through play.  Learn More About the Importance of Play Here

BETSY'S CORNER
CHOICES

Standing at the front door, holding the 6 month old crying infant in the baby carrier, I ask my three year old son to "get a hat". It's a chilly day in late fall, and I've decided a hat would be best. I've already bundled both kids in coats, and found the missing...Read More!

APPLE PAINTING
A fun, messy, sensory fall craft idea

Toddlers love to paint, so why not make it into a fun, sensory craft related to the fall season? You can use this activity to talk about colors, since apples come in red, green & yellow. You can match your apple to the correct paint color by dipping the red apples in red paint, etc. The easiest way is to simply slice an apple in half, but sometimes those apple halves are too large for little hands so if you first slice the apple in half and then cut two small slices from each side, you now have a "handle" on the apple (see photo) to make gripping and painting easier!

TESTIMONIALS

See What Others Are Saying About TEIS

We absolutely loved every one of our therapists! They were all extremely friendly and so kind to our entire family and daycare teachers; each and every one of them was truly awesome to work with. Each time our son graduated from a service, we were very excited about his progress, but also very sad to have to say goodbye to the therapist. Without Stephenie G, Mary Ann, Stephanie S and Kris, I have no doubts our son would not be doing as well as he is. There are not enough words to express how truly grateful I am to have had the 4 of them help my son (and us) get to where he is today.

At TEIS, we specialize in Therapeutic Early Intervention Services for children from 0-3 years of age in Allegheny & Westmoreland Counites and Independent Evaluations in Beaver County.
