Greetings!
Welcome to 2013!
We are looking forward to a great year ahead for Alma College, with our new Center for Student Opportunities open, another Resonance performance ahead, and some fantastic alumni events planned, just to name a few...and I hope to see many of you throughout the year.
In the upcoming month, watch for alumni events in the southwest (Albuquerque, NM and Phoenix, AZ), Florida (Naples, Tampa, Orlando and Hollywood), and Chicago, and we'll return with several events in Michigan in March.
Go Scots!
Lou Ecken'95 Director of Alumni Engagement

The Center for Student Opportunity (CSO) Our new Center for Student Opportunity opened in January in the space that previously housed Jones Auditorium and the Kiltie Korner bookstore. The CSO is a one-stop shop for all the services students need to make the most of their Alma education and meet the requirements of our new Alma Commitment, including assistance with both academic and career planning as well as resources for connecting to hands-on experiences (internships, research, service learning, etc.). Check out this YouTube clip to view the beautiful new space! CSO video Also check out the great local coverage of our Alma Commitment: |

The Distinguished Alumni Award is the highest honor presented to alumni, recognizing alumni who have brought distinction to the College through their professions, have set strong examples for others and have served their communities.
The George Hebert Award is presented to alumni for their loyalty and service to Alma College and to the Alumni Association.
The Young Alumni Award recognizes recently graduated alumni (between 1 and 10 years) who have given faithful service to Alma College and their communities.
The Smith Distinguished Service Award honors graduates who believe in Alma College and have assisted with student recruitment, helped with career efforts, visited the campus to attend events or speak to a class, or served on a College board.
Please see the website below to see complete award descriptions and to make a nomination! Nominations are accepted between October 15 and April 15 for these awards. The Alumni Board votes on nominations at its Spring Meeting at the end of April.
