The Devil's Eye by Ian Plant I solo backcountry kayaked for four days last August in the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior, waiting for the lake to calm down enough so I could paddle inside several sandstone sea caves located on remote Devils Island, fourteen miles from the mainland. One afternoon, conditions were perfect, and I was able to spend four hours photographing the sea caves. I waited for an incoming wave to fill the space at the bottom of the image frame. Equipment Used: Canon 5D Mark III camera, Nikon 14-24mm lens (with Canon adapter), ISO 1600, f/11, 0.8 seconds.
