Give Your Customers Some Political Cover!

Our industry must come out fighting on behalf of our clients. Right now, it's easier for your clients to duck and cover (and call the airlines) than it is to expend internal political capital to make the business case for charter as an effective business tool.

You and your clients can use this AirPSG action plan to make the case that charter travel is an effective business and productivity tool. We wrote and issued this action plan in February 2009. I'm bringing it to you again, because it's as useful and relevant today as five years ago!

Turn More Retail Quotes Into Trips
Turn more of your retail quotes into trips using AirPSG's 5-step quote conversion process.

The key to success is recognizing that a quote request usually is the start of the sales process. Customers are still gathering information when they ask for a quote. They typically are not ready to place an order with you or your competitors.

But too many operators treat quote requests like the end of the sales process. They assume that if the customer doesn't immediately book the trip, the sale is lost.

I have personal experience here, having flown more than 80 charter segments with 2 dozen operators over the past 13 years. One of my favorite operators gave me a quote six months before I flew my first trip with them. During the intervening time, they used a definite follow-up process to make me feel welcome, valued, and as if I was already a customer.

I ended up taking three trips with them...and all because they treated the quote request like the beginning of the relationship instead of the end of it.

Jet Profile

Each month, we'll highlight something free or low cost you should be doing to get and keep retail charter customers.

This month, the focus is on How To Work a Room. Whether it's a Chamber of Commerce mixer, a Rotary Club breakfast, or an industry cocktail party, you'll find yourself in a room full of strangers. If your goal is to leave the room with qualified contacts who are interested in learning more about the benefits of air charter, read our white paper on a four-step process to work the room.
