Professional Development Opportunity

CATV will be a host-site for a Common Good Vermont live webcast workshop featuring Wendelyn Duquette.  Wendelyn will demonstrate how to use QuickBooks to manage and report on what is often a juggling act for nonprofit organizations.  Participants will learn the best data fields to use to track both organizational programs and grant funds (or multiple funding sources) and how to use them.  If you think your organization could be more efficient with program management and reporting, this is a great opportunity for you.

Register online here for this $15 workshop.

CALL FOR HARTFORD STORIES!
Does your organization have a story to tell?

This August, CATV is offering a new video camp that focuses on local news and community stories.  Our goal is to connect middle school students to the community through storytelling and we need your help.

If you have a story that you would like to share or have any questions about this camp offering, please contact Sophie Bodnar at sophie@catv8.org

Mental Health Awareness Month

Always a staunch advocate for mental health awareness, Community Producer Linda Carbino has created 4 shows to air this month focusing on resources available to those who are impacted by mental illness.  Linked below is a special May episode of Walking Through Life with guests NAMI Vermont Board Member Claire Munat, Board Vice Chair of NAMI Vermont Judy Siler, and life coach and In Our Own Voice program leader Mitzi Bockmann.  It's a moving episode, featuring personal success stories and a number of helpful resources available to folks in the area who suffer from or who have a loved one who suffers from mental illness.  Visit the NAMI website to learn more about NAMI's services.

Hot off the Presses

Check out the latest issue of CATV's video magazine, Upper Valley Access.  These monthly videos feature highlights from the previous month's productions by CATV staff and community producers.

Included among the productions in this issue is an Upper Valley Strong PSA, a still from which is pictured above.  In the PSA, Pete Twarog shares his experience mobilizing during the devastating 2013 flood on Slayton Hill in Lebanon.  These shorter form productions help promote very specific information - they are an efficient tool to communicate a focused message.  Let us know if you if we can help you create a PSA for your organization by calling us at 802.295.6688 or emailing info@catv8.org
