Annual Producer Awards

Monday, March 31st, we held our annual producer awards night. This evening gives the staff at CATV a chance to recognize the dedicated group of volunteers that help put all of the quality community programming on our channels.

Congrats to the winners and thanks again for your hard work!

Education

There is no mistaking it--March 2014 was a ferocious lion, but CATV kids roared right back!

Here is a look at some highlights:

Sophomore high school students from Hanover joined us in our studio and classroom for a week-long March Intensive. Throughout the week they made hilarious and quite honestly, informative PSAs for the Apocalypse, they produced well thought-out and intricately edited music videos, as well as conceptualized and executed various genre projects. Needless to say they were busy! Take a look at their work here!

A young filmmaker and Richmond Middle School student, Kai, approached his principal with a request. That request in turn initiated a conversation between Associate Principal, Mr. Lepene and CATV. This month we confirmed that CATV will be collaborating with the Richmond School to offer an elective video course this spring! Way to go, Kai!!!
New Adult Training Class

We are excited to offer a basic training course beginning April 22nd!. Here you will gain insight on the history and mission of community access television and all about how you can enrich our programing. Over the course of these three classes you will work hands-on with our camera equipment and learn about lighting and shooting techniques. Each individual will record and edit a project which will then be aired on one of our channels!

Dates: April 21nd & 28th and May 5 & 12th (four weeks total)
Time: 6-7:30 PM
Age: 16+
Cost: $25
