It's that time of year again when nights get scarier, the ghosts and goblins are gearing up for a scary halloween night and CATV is challenging YOU to create the scariest film in the Upper Valley!
Here's this years challenge: CATV will provide you with a pre-written narrative to start your story out, and then you and your film-making team will create a short horror film based on that narrative that is 7 minutes or less. The three age divisions are middle school, high school, and adult. There are no limitations on group size, but there must be at least two teams in each division.
The videos will be judged by a panel of film experts and there will be winners chosen for each age division. First place teams will receive $200.00, the second place team $150.00 and the third place team $100.00. There will be a separate audience vote on the evening of the premier and more special prizes for fun categories such as best scream, best makeup, etc.
Our kick off meeting is Monday, October 7th at 5:00 PM at the CATV studio in the Tip Top Building, White River Junction. During this meeting, at least one of your team members must be present, and we will go over the rules and regulations in more detail as well as answer any questions you might have. All finished projects must be turned in by 4:00 pm on Thursday, Oct. 24 at the CATV classroom in the Tip Top Building, White River Junction. The big premier and awards ceremony will be at the Wilder Center in Wilder, VT at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 29th.
The registration fee is $25 per team. For more information and online registration, please visit our website at www.catv8.org. The deadline for entries is Thursday, October 3rd at 5:00 PM.
