Linda hosts studio show Walking Through Life and has brought awareness of many issues to our CATV community!

Give us a little history of your background with CATV. How did you get started?

I first heard about opportunities at CATV through an ad on CATV channel 8. I was in recovery from my mental illness and addiction issues and found myself searching for tools to help me with those issues. In my heart I knew that there were so many more people that had suffered or were still suffering with those very issues. For a long time I have wanted to help these people and fight stigmas that go along with mental illness.

So when I saw the ad I knew this is how I was going to help people. I wanted to give them a voice. I took the first step and made the call on Feb 12th of 2007 to Bob Franzoni and he asked me to come down to talk about what I wanted to do for a show. I shared my life story and my hopes to inspire and

empower people to tell their own stories and to reach out to those in need. Bob liked my story and asked me if I wanted to do a series. I came up with the idea for the name to be 'Walking Through Life" because I thought of how often we take walks with our loved ones and share our hopes and dreams with them.  I taped the first show the very next week . I began hosting more and more guests until I was doing several in a week and the show was airing four times a week!

In 2008 the State of Vermont Windsor County Senator read a state resolution on the senate floor acknowledging me for my show and the challenges I overcame with mental illness and addiction issues and I received the Jack Barry Award of Communication. Boy, that really helped me to know that the hard work I was doing on my show was really my life's purpose. Soon, I was trained on the video equipment was also hosting the show at my home or in other homes if the guests were unable to come to me. Since then I have learned to edit my shows on Final Cut Pro. I spread the word of hope to all those that maybe think about doing their own show but don't think they have the knowledge to do it. I always tell them CATV is there to help them. I have learned so much from CATV and I feel like a part of a family when I am there. So I want to thank everyone at CATV for helping reach for the dream of hearing many more stories of hope.

What do you want people to get out of watching your show?

I want them to listen, share and show others they care. I want them to be understanding when things are not going so well for their loved ones and show they can be helpful. I want them to trust not only me but others. I want to show them options that they might never have known were available to them. I want them to have fun and be entertained.

Who was your most memorable guest?

One is country singer/songwriter Tim Brick because from the very first time I met him and told him the story of "Walking Through Life" TV show he wanted to help any way he could. I asked him if he could write a theme song for the show. He said, "Let me think about it and watch some of your shows and I will get back to you". A couple of weeks later he sent me a CD with

a song he wrote called "Walking Through Life" I could not wait to pop it in the CD player to listen to it. When I heard it, I cried! It was the most beautiful song I've ever heard! It was so evident that Tim really understood the purpose of the show.

The second is my husband Ted. He was the first guest on my show to talk openly about his mental illness. Ted is a big part of the show. After all, he does know me better then anyone!

Who would be your ideal guest to interview?

Anyone who has a life story that others can learn from or in some way identify with. Non-profits that can help those in need, government officials that can share information on funding and changes happening in our states, doctors and those informed on alternative medicines. Anyone that can help us understand how to help ourselves. Also, people that could entertain us so we don't need to always think about how hard life can be!

What is your favorite part of hosting Walking Through Life?

I get to meet so many wonderful people that share their lives with me. I get to hear their wisdom first hand, and some of them touch my heart so much. I really do love what I do and everything I have learned from hosting this show!!

You can catch Linda's show prime time on CATV 8/10 or see her on demand on her Vimeo Channel!
