Happenings and Updates: April 2012

Greetings CATV viewers and happy spring! A special welcome to those of you who we met at the Home Life Show in Hanover last month and congratulations to all the winners! Thanks for subscribing to our monthly newsletter. In each issue we let you know what's going on around our studios, upcoming events we'll be covering and participating in, and much more!

Do you have a great idea for a show or something you'd be interested in covering around the Upper Valley? Give us a call or send us an email anytime to let us know! We wouldn't be who we are without the support of our awesome volunteers and producers!

CATV's  2011 Tip Top Studio Productions

CATV was busy throughout 2011 providing the Upper Valley with a total of 142 studio productions. Some show topics include the biweekly analysis of Lebanon City Government, interviews with local community personalities, animal rescue and welfare updates, Vermont and New Hampshire school budgets or current issues in education, and entertainment by local musicians. It is truly amazing just how interesting our neighbors are when asked to tell their story.

Some statistics for 2011:

Lebanon led the way with 54 studio shoots (38%) followed by Hartford with 39 (27%), Hanover with 15 (11%), and Norwich with 6 (4%). There were 28 (20%) programs by producers who were non-residents of the five major communities we serve (Hanover, Lebanon, Hartford, Norwich, and Hartland).  All productions are aired on either channel 8 or 10 and put on catv8.org's Video on Demand and/or Vimeo.

We are looking forward to surpassing the 142 mark in 2012 and with your help we can do it! If you have an idea for a show, please contact CATV and we can work with you to make your idea a reality not only on Comcast's channel 8 or 10, but on the internet as well.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard in 2011 to provide CATV's subscribers with the best local programming available.
