DONATE -- Keep GLBT History Alive! VOLUNTEER -- Many Ways to Get Involved
As an "insider" you may be able to open the door...

Many companies around the world support LGBT organizations with financial donations. Often, the opinions of employees influence the company's choices about which groups to support. Some companies even make donations simply at the request of an employee.

But a company's philanthropic decision-making process and preferences can be difficult for outsiders to know.
For these reasons, we appreciate the kindness of "insiders," who can open doors that might otherwise be closed to us.

If you work for a company that supports (or might be willing to support) the LGBT community, please let us know by contacting Paul Boneberg at paul@glbthistory.orgTogether, we can keep GLBT history alive!

Alexandria Deters at the Archives
Thanks to the help of several museums studies students and interns, our arts holdings are being fully inventoried, photographed and properly stored. A small grant from the City of San Francisco has allowed for the construction of oversize storage racks for paintings.

Under the supervision of Managing Archivist Marjorie Bryer and Museum Advisor Elisabeth Cornu, our summer interns Fuchsia Spring and Alexandra Barrows helped with the first part of the cataloguing, and fall intern Alexandria Deters has continued to catalog many posters, photographs, and smaller paintings. Some beautiful treasures have come to light through this project and will be displayed at the Museum in the future.
Out on 18th Street

"History is Now: The Dragon Fruit Project" is an intergenerational oral history project by and about the LGBTQ Asian & Pacific Islander community. In a series of videos, project participants share their experiences of isolation, oppression, activism and love during the last five decades.

"I'm so impressed with young LGBT folk today," says Lia Shigemura, one of the interviewees. "My generation... didn't have that understanding that they have a place in this world and that they don't have to apologize for that place."

"History is Now: The Dragon Fruit Project" is a must-see section of "Queer Past Becomes Present," the current exhibition in the Main Gallery of the GLBT History Museum.

The G Spot: Gentrification, Transformation and Queer San Francisco
