TIM HYDE
"The Art and Craft of Collecting Photography"

Thursday, Dec 12th, 7:30-9:00 PM
An avid collector of photography and photobooks, Tim Hyde views a successful collection as an organic whole -- one with a quirky personality, a history, and a unity all its own.  A collection is something more than a simple list of assets -- it is something that one builds or cultivates, like an exotic garden.  Hyde is a DC-based photographer who has built a well-known collection over the course of many years.  Towards this end, he has worked with galleries, auction houses, art dealers, and directly with many contemporary photographers.
