FEBRUARY'S FEATURE
OF THE MONTH
Birthday Celebration Promotion
Ever Yurt in a Park?
A yurt is a round, portable dwelling structure traditionally used by nomads in Central Asia. When it was time to move, the yurt could be dismantled and carried on camels or yaks and, in about two hours, be rebuilt at another site.
Today, the yurt stays put. (Try as we might, we couldn't get the canvas cover, skylight, wood floors, porch, bunk beds, futons, screened windows, locking door, electricity, lighting, and heater loaded aboard a yak.)
So, we invite you to River Meadows Park, where our newest yurt village has been constructed just for your camping pleasure. In addition to the features mentioned above, each yurt has a fire pit and picnic table right outside the door. And best of all, a private restroom facility for each yurt.
In celebration of Snohomish County's 50th Birthday, we are offering $10/night off for reservations made and used in the month of February. Be sure to use the Promo Code BIRTHDAY.

Toxic algae bloom caution in Lake Stevens
Lake Stevens is currently experiencing intermittent blooms of blue-green algae. This type of algae looks like blue or green paint floating on the surface and tends to accumulate on the lake shoreline. Sometimes blue-green algae can produce toxins that are harmful to people and pets.
In January, water samples were taken with preliminary results showing the liver toxin microcystin above Washington State recreational standards. Snohomish County's Surface Water Management and the City of Lake Stevens will continue to monitor the algae bloom for toxins.
