Park it Here!
DECEMBER'S FEATURE
Gary Weikel Room at
Willis Tucker Park

Need Room?
Anyone out there getting married, having a birthday, anniversary, retirement party or other cause for celebration?
If you're on a budget but need a room that's "not at our house," try parking it at December's feature of the month: the Gary Weikel Room at Willis Tucker Community Park.
Not too big, not too small, the Weikel Room accommodates up to 100 guests comfortably. Its large windows bring in lots of light, and overlook the patio and surrounding foliage that separate it from the playground, spray pad, and other park features.
Included in the rental, the Verde Room provides a light-duty kitchen offering lots of space for prepping your foods. And, should you wish to toast your special occasion, no problem -- beer, wine, and champagne are allowed with purchase of permit and insurance.
So check out the Gary Weikel Room. It's not at your house, but it just might be in your back yard. Call (425) 388-6600 for reservations or a tour.

Canine Parvovirus Outbreak
Dog owners, please be aware that Snohomish County Parks has received notification of a outbreak of Canine Parvovirus in the state. You can greatly reduce the opportunity for your pet to become ill by keeping your pet current with all vaccinations and following your veterinarian's recommendations for a healthy happy pet.
Snohomish County Parks asks that all dog off-leash area visitors be aware of the importance of having a healthy pet and recommends all pet owners consult with their vet to make sure their animal is healthy enough for dog off-leash areas. Please remember to clean up after your pet and to dispose of waste properly. |
Wellington Hills plan delayed
Snohomish County has gently slowed down its timetable for developing a regional sports complex at Wellington Hills, although things could pick up next year.
The original schedule called for adopting a master plan this fall. Now, county parks director expects to send the County Council a proposed road map for development in February or March, then seek building permits once a plan is approved. "We slowed down and kept listening to people," Director Tom Teigen said last week. "We want to make sure that everybody can continue to work through the process with us."
