Happy New Year! Thank you for helping make 2011 a great year.
In 2011, your Snohomish County Parks system hosted four million visitors, accepted property transfers from Washington State DNR and celebrated the completion of the Centennial Trail 'Gap' and art plaza in Arlington. The 40,000 square foot events center building at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds was completed just in time for the fair. The Evergreen Fairgrounds also received a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) grant to make energy efficiency improvements to buildings at the fairgrounds.
Thank you, volunteers and corporate sponsors for your dedication to making Snohomish County's parks enjoyable and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
Special volunteer efforts include the cleanup days at Lake Stickney Park, the Centennial Trail and Fishermen's Park. Meadowdale Elementary School students raised salmon fry and released them into the stream at Meadowdale Beach County Park.
Sundquist Homes again provided Movies in the Park and the Farmer's Market operated for the first time at Willis Tucker Park. Thrasher's Corner Sports Grill again sponsored the benefit golf tournament to fund youth activities in 2012.
We wish you joy & happiness throughout the new year and look forward to seeing you in 2012.
Watch for more great happenings from your Snohomish County Parks Department. |
