Convention Highlights 

Join us Saturday, February 14 for an entertaining and informative day at Convention 2015.
Speakers include Dr. John Michael Riley with his projections on the 2015 cattle market along with Dr. Jane Parish's analysis of results from market cow and calf observations at local sale barns.
Kansas State's Dr. Mike Apley will cover the timely topic of antibiotic regulation changes and Colin Woodall will update us on happenings in Washington, DC.
Between meetings, visit vendors in the Dixie Farm Expo for the latest products and services for your farm or ranch.

Scholarship Luncheon & President's Banquet Tickets
 
Fifty outstanding students will be honored at the awards luncheon on February 14. College scholarships from The Wax Company, Cattlemen's Foundation and CattleWomen's Association will be presented.
That evening, Panola County Cattlemen's Association will host a reception for incoming MCA President Dr. Harold Newcomb at 5:30 followed by the President's Banquet at the Ag Museum.
Two Rivers Restaurant will cater both events and tickets must be purchased by February 6.
Conservation Stewardship Program

State Conservationist Kurt Readus with USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service announced last week that applications are being accepted for the $100 million Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP).
"CSP is a way of incentivizing farmers, ranchers, and private forest managers who maintain a high level of conservation on their land and agree to adopt higher levels of stewardship," said Readus.

Against tough competition from other sandwiches and flat to declining restaurant traffic, burgers ordered at U.S. restaurants and foodservice outlets had a banner year in 2014. There were  9 billion servings of burgers ordered at U.S. restaurants and foodservice outlets last year, an increase of 3 percent compared to prior year, according to foodservice market research.
