 Stockmanship Stewardship Demonstration begins at 8:30 Montana rancher Curt Pate will demonstrate BQA cattle handling techniques during Cattlemen's College. Pate, who consulted on the 1998 Robert Redford film "The Horse Whisperer," has been traveling the country for more than a decade teaching ranchers to think like cattle and use low-stress methods of handling livestock.

As livestock specialist for Texas AgriLife Extension at Texas A&M University, Dr. Ron Gill works with cattlemen across the country to help improve their management skills and profitability. Gill will join Curt Pate for the cattle-handling demonstration and later will make a presentation on "Managing to Improve Production Efficiency".

Scott George, President of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association will speak at both sessions of Cattlemen's College. George is a dairy and beef producer from Cody, Wyoming.

Hugh Aljoe is a pasture and range consultant at the Noble Foundation in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Before coming to the Noble Foundation in 1995, Aljoe was the ranch manager for 10 years on a large Texas cattle operation where forage resources bermudagrass pastures (overseeded to ryegrass) that were operated in modified short-duration grazing systems.
