San Francisco Tribal and Textile Arts Show

The Festival Pavilion at Fort Mason Center, San Francisco
This event features more than 15,000 pieces from 100 tribal and textile arts specialists. Rare art and antiques from Africa, Southeast Asia, Oceanic Islands, the Middle East and Central and South America will be available for purchase. Thomas Murray will guest curate a special exhibit entitled "Masks Then and Now: Inspiration and Interpretation," showcasing antique tribal masks from the Himalayas and Indonesia alongside contemporary works by sculptor Mort Golub. Opening Night Preview to benefit the de Young Museum.

St. Rita School
Beginning August 2014, Fairfax's St. Rita School will implement two new programs: The International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP) and The Gateway to Technology Middle School Engineering Program. Both programs are inquiry- and project-based, encouraging students to think more critically, independently and creatively, thereby preparing them for the global society of the 21st century. The International Baccalaureate was established more than 40 years ago and is currently used at more than 3,500 schools worldwide, serving more than one million students.
