Squaw Valley

Heading to Squaw Valley this weekend, or anytime in the next couple of months? Check out our list of 101 Things To Do in Olympic (aka Squaw) Valley, written by ski instructor and Truckee resident, Nicole Cheslock. Her tips range from fun and informative to do it if you dare. For example, number 11: Squaw Valley offers "Chutes and Hikes" on Monday mornings; Number 23: get a picture of yourself on the podium in the small Olympic Heritage Museum at High Camp (free admission); Number 36: missed out or want to relive that high school romance? Deck yourself out for the annual Squaw Valley Prom (this weekend). The theme is Spring Break 1999.

Northstar Tahoe

Got Instagram Skills? Win a trip to Northstar Tahoe for the weekend. Award packages will be given away every weekend starting tomorrow, through March. Simply post a picture to Instagram of your car racked with ski or snowboard gear, ready to head to the mountains, and use the hashtag #rackedandready. Grand prize includes two nights lodging and lift tickets for up to four people, complimentary parking, Fast Pass vouchers providing priority lift line access, a dining voucher valid at Tavern 6330' in the Village at Northstar and a GoPro Hero 3 package, with a video edit to follow showcasing your experience. Each week Northstar will randomly select four finalists from the submitted posts. For more on the contest, read our Travel Buzz blog.

Park City, Utah

Kosher on the Mountain? You're going to have to travel a bit further than Tahoe and go to Park City, Utah, but you can find it. Turns out Jack Bistricer, CEO of Talisker, the real estate conglomerate that purchased Canyon's, one of three ski resorts in Park City, is an Orthodox Jew. He wanted to be sure there was a place his family and friends could eat and worship appropriately during ski trips. Along with the usual luxury ski amenities, there is an onsite synagogue and the first certified-kosher restaurant at a North American ski resort, not to mention the first Kosher restaurant in the state of Utah.
