Rediscovering the Fun At Trackrock! Trackrock Campground is one of the best places to find yourself for a weekend, a week or longer! Here at the campground you can hike, explore, go for a horse back ride and/or fish, enjoying the great outdoors and watching spring begin to show it's pretty face. Brasstown Bald, the highest point in GA, and the Nottely River, known for it's excellent fly fishing, are just a couple of places to experience close by. Each and every outing is an adventure if you take a different path and find roads you have not traveled. Just down the road from Trackrock, a leisurely hour or two can be spent at Pappy's Roadside Riverwalk which includes a trading post and general merchandise store with a deck overlooking the Nottely River, a restaurant, a fudge shop, gift shops, tubing adventure and auction house. The Herb Crib, just outside the campground is another must-visit, where you can find wildflowers, heirloom flowers, native plants, and woodland plants growing, and can purchase herbal gifts if you desire. If you haven't been to Trackrock recently, it's time to return and enjoy it again. If you've never been, what's taking you so long to discover the fun? |

Campground Etiquette 107
Are You New to Camping? Does it Show?
Do you want everyone to know you are brand new at the "camping thing?" If you do, then make sure to do everything in the list below. It's guaranteed to call attention to your inexperience and to the fact that you are a "camping newbie."
1) Don't practice backing your camper before your first trip to the campground -If you want everyone in the campground to know it's the first time you've driven your new camper, don't practice backing it at home.
2) Pull out the instruction manual on how to set up your tent at the campground and spend 3 hours setting it up (almost correctly) -New tent owners can be spotted a mile away! Help is always as close as your neighbor or a camp host!
3) Bring enough equipment and supplies for the entire campground - New campers live in fear of not bringing enough stuff whether it's gear, clothes, or food. They're the ones who bring along their kids bicycles, skateboards, scooters, and rollerblades along with armfuls of other toys (your kids will likely only use their bicycle) plus enough food to feed the entire campground for a week, and several suitcases of clothes for a 2 day trip.
4) Bring a tiny hatchet to cut your firewood - Those little hatchets with a 10" or 12" handle will only cut twigs. They will not split firewood. Once again, your neighbors are most always willing to loan you their axe or a camp host is happy to give you a hand!
5) Bring one $5 bundle of firewood for a weekend camping trip This is really just a continuation of item #5 (bring a tiny hatchet to cut your firewood). We have plenty of DRY firewood at the campground office. Always available by the honor system for those late night or early morning fires!
