Market Updates
It's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is just a week away and that our regular season is coming to a close.  Good thing, we have the winter market to look forward to and, oh yeah, all of the great things happening in the market this weekend!

First of all, the market will be packed with fall favorites, returning vendors and everything you need to make a memorable Thanksgiving feast.  Many vendors are offering special deals and donations to local charities, including but not limited to Masala Pop (gift box fundraiser for First Book), Hammer & Tuffy Granola (all proceeds donation to the Oregon Food bank) and Laurel Ridge Winery (well, you just have to stop by to see what great deals they offer!).  Our knife sharpener, Dragonfly Forge, will be in the market.  And since this is our last regular season market, this will be the last market for many of our vendors.  Ask your favorite vendors if you can still find them at the winter market.

Second, we are hosting the Neighborhood Gleaners' supply drive in the market this week.  Check out the article below to find out what supplies they need to continue their important work.

Third, the market has decided to make our own donation to the Neighborhood Gleaners and we hope you'll join us!  Your dollar will go twice as far, because the Hollywood Farmers Market will match all cash donations, $1 for $1, up to $1500!  (And we really want to give them $1500!)

And finally, by now you've heard that we are featured in the Willamette Week Give!Guide through a partnership with the Farmers Market Fund.  Give today and you could win a giant ice cream party from Salt & Straw!

See you at the market!
Neighborhood Gleaners Supply Drive this Saturday!
The Neighborhood Gleaners will be hosting a Supply Drive at the farmers market this Saturday! (The Gleaners is an all-volunteer program that collects food at the end of the market that would otherwise go to waste, and distributes it to low income seniors.) With your help, they can avoid buying supplies, keep the van fueled, and continue to get great food to seniors in our community.

The Gleaners will be set up and accepting supply donations at the market, next to the information booth at the corner of 44th and Hancock. The full list of needs is below.

If you have questions, you can reach the Gleaners at 503-475-4943!
Donations can also be delivered to the Hollywood Senior Center.

Baguettes

Fleur de Lis Bakery

Get some of these on Saturday, enjoy with dinner and cut up the rest for homemade stuffing on Thursday. Add your choice of broth, vegetables and spices for a crusty treat.

Sweet Meat Squash
Sun Gold Farm

Thinking of making your own Thanksgiving pie? The sweet meat squash with it's light blue skin is great way to go. Try it mixed with some sugar pumpkin and you won't be disappointed.

Yak Roast
Pine Mountain Ranch

Try something new this Thanksgiving. Yak roast is milder than the traditional beef and less greasy. It cooks well with salt and garlic.

Fresh Rosemary

Deep Roots Farm

Fresh rosemary adds a distinct woodsy flavor to any dish and it smells great. Put some in the turkey while its baking or add it to your mashed potatoes. You can find this at the Hollywood Farmers Market all winter!

Indian Chutneys

Cardamom Trading Co.

Please stop by and welcome another new vendor to our market. Through a variety of different chutney's, Cardamom Hills brings us a cultural story from India using ingredients sourced from Oregon. Chutneys can accompany roasted meat dishes or served with cheese and bread. Try the apricot and cardamom with goat cheese. Also the spicy tomato is a must try, served as a dip or spread.
