67th Annual 4th of July Street Fair & Parade
July 4, 2016
Location:  downtown Wardsboro, VT
Quintessentially hometown Vermont, the Wardsboro 4th of July Street Fair and Parade will kick off at 9 a.m. on July 4th (Monday) as it has for 67 years. The aroma of coffee arises from the Coffee & Donut Cart on Main Street early in the morning and you can still catch the scent of pies baking in the Town Hall. Children's games, run by the Boy Scouts, includes the high striker with hammer and bell. The chicken BBQ dinner has more homemade side dishes than the average BBQ, and strawberry shortcake in the Vestry makes its own statement. The church's brilliant display of quilts is stunning. Music, hamburgers and hot dogs, of course; bake sale and book sale; collectibles and white elephant sale round out the variety of activities. The History House will be open with a display. The parade? Eclectic! And you get to see it twice. The duck race in the brook that runs through town completes the day.
Summer/Fall Activity Schedule - so far....

The Clubhouse/Recreation Committee has again put together a fun filled event and activity schedule (click here for schedule ). We hope you will join your fellow Chimney Hillers for these fun filled times.
Water Consumer Confidence Report 2015

Since 1967 Chimney Hill has been supplying safe drinking water for its full and part time residents. Its commitment to safe and adequate supplies of drinking water is and will continue to be a priority for its users. This report is an overview of your water system and the quality of water that we provided for January 1 through December 31, 2015. The following link will take you to the report:
Time to mow your lawn

Warm weather and a little rain has really made things grow in CHOA and as a result many of the homes are barely visible based on the growth around them. Letting your property revert back to nature may be a nice idea for some but not a good idea because:

1)      A red flag for would be thieves - unmaintained property = no one home.
2)      Wildlife, rodents, insects, etc. love this stuff and will eventually find their way into your home - hello family of skunks.
3)      Reduced property value.
4)      Looks like crap - think about your neighbors, would you want your home next to an unmaintained property?

For those of you who maintain your property - thank you. For those of you who don't it is time to clean it up. For a list of names of lawnmowers (and for some haying equipment) please call the CHOA office at: (802) 464-2181.
If you rent your house through the Association, lawns must be maintained.
Assessment Reminder

This year's annual assessment was mailed to all Chimney Hill Owners on April 1, 2016. The association relies on these funds for the operation of the association and we hope you will mail in the assessment payment as soon as possible. Failure to pay your annual assessments by July 1, 2016 will result in interest charges retroactive to April 1, 2016.
Coming this Summer to Chimney Hill...
Magical Earth Adventures Summer Day Camp
 July 25 - 29, 2016
Our days at Magical Earth Adventures Summer Day camp are filled with exercise, writing, art and crafts, learning in and from nature, science, math and even some geography.  Each day begins with a sharing circle and we take time to express our gratitude.  Then off into the woods where we learn to see the world around us, as well as learn about the flora and fauna in our area.  We teach the children to respect the natural world and hopefully to gain a new found knowledge enabling them to be the earth's future custodians.

A previous parent, a Chimney Hill owner, says the following:

"My two boys (ages 8 and 10) attended Magical Earth Summer Adventure camp last summer in Marlboro, Vt. Words cannot express what an incredible time they had...building forts in the woods, learning to forage wild plants, making natural dyes, walking sticks and more! Outside all day long, it was a "magical" experience. They are so excited to go back this summer they may do two weeks."

Our regular price for one child is $225, but Chimney Hill residents will be offered a discounted price of $175.

Registration is available online at the link below:

Once your children are registered you will receive informational emails about our adventure, including things to bring, documents which will need your signature, etc. etc. as well as our monthly newsletter to keep up to date with happenings at Magical Earth Retreats.

We look forward to having fun in nature with your children!  We enjoy sharing how nature nurtures creativity!
