 Veterans Need to Be Helped"What are we going to do for Veterans Day?" Congregations can help veterans exiting a homelessness shelter into a home by conducting collections for Move-In-Essential Items the weekend of Veterans Day, November 12-13. If you are willing to conduct such a collection please contact Military Outreach USA at info@militaryoutreachusa.org well in advance so they can make plans to pick up donations and get them to a VA facility for distribution to qualified Veterans. Lutheran Young Adult Corps Application Opens for 2017
The online application process for Lutheran Young Adult Corps is set to open on Monday, October 10, 2016 for the upcoming year of service. Starting in June 2017, four nationwide locations will open with four to eight LCMS young adults (18-26) in each. Supported by a city coordinator and local supervisors, participants will serve full time with LCMS congregations, campus ministries, Registered Service Organizations, and other community organizations in under-served settings. Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF), a Christ-centered servant partner of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod (LCMS) is seeking candidates for the following positions: *LCEF Director of Regional MarketingThe Director of Regional Marketing will oversee the work of the LCEF Regional Marketing Managers and will serve as a member of the Marketing Leadership Team. A Bachelor's degree and 10 or more years of professional experience in communications, journalism, marketing or related field is required. Previous experience managing deployed staff is preferred. Superior communication and presentation skills are necessary along with a highly collaborative style that fosters team building and unity. Must be able to manage multiple people and projects across a deployed setting. *LCEF Regional Vice President - Central RegionThe Regional Vice President - Central Region - will oversee the work of the LCEF District Vice Presidents in the Central Region and is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the LCEF program in this area. A Bachelor's degree and 10 or more years of professional experience in marketing/sales management, business administration and/or management is required. Previous experience as an LCEF District Vice President and a passion for the work of church extension is preferred. Demonstrated ability, within a team environment, to develop, manage and implement comprehensive processes which will be used to manage and promote LCEF loans, investments and Ministry Support services throughout the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. This individual equips Bethesda staff, congregations and communities to provide spiritual supports through training, consulting, resourcing and modeling to minister with the people we support holistically and through other ministries in a balanced and effective manner.
