Are these 7 negative thoughts sabotaging you?

Hello,

The lazy, hazy, fun days of summer are coming to end.  With this change of season, come feelings of dread, frustration, and sadness.  You may dread going back to your fast-paced, stressed-out workplace.  You may be frustrated with your relationships or life circumstances.  Or you may be sad from the empty nest syndrome.  All of these circumstances and many others can easily make us think negative thoughts about ourselves.  We are our worst enemy.  Whatever lemons you have been given, you have to make lemonade.

You can start by realizing you are not your thoughts!  However, you can become your thoughts through a self-fulfilling prophecy.  Negative thinking begets negative circumstances.  Positive thinking begets positive circumstance.   You have a choice to react negatively or positively to any circumstance.

Before life revs up to full speed this fall, take a proactive approach and start turning your negative thinking into positive thoughts.

The 7 Common Sabotaging Phrases:

1)    "I don't have time."
Positive Spin: "This is important for me. I matter. I will make time."

2)    "I wish I didn't do that!"
Positive Spin: "It's in the past. I can learn from it."

3)     "I am (afraid, stupid, fat, a failure, too old, alone, etc.)."
Positive Spin: "I am (courageous, smart, beautiful, successful, young and spry, loved, etc.)."

4)     "I am not (smart, interesting, strong, etc.) enough."
Positive Spin: "I am (smart, interesting, strong, etc.) enough."

5)    "I will be happy when X happens."
Positive Spin: "I can no longer delay my happiness."

6)    "My life is getting out of control again."
Positive Spin: "I am in control of my life. I can handle it."

 7)    "It is too hard."
Positive Spin: "It will get easier."

Start now.  Write down a positive spin that is most relative to you and place it near your desk, bed, mirrors, cabinets, etc.  State the positive thought 7 times out loud and again in your mind.  With time, the positive spin will become an automatic habit of thought.  You will watch your self-fulfilling prophecy of success evolve.  Repeat the steps each time you want to master a new positive thought.

It takes 30 days to three months to change a habit.  Many people tend to sabotage their success and fall back into their old habits within 30 days.  Changing a habit takes times.  BE STRONG and STAY FOCUSED on YOU!  You are the only person responsible for the way you react towards people and situations.

To feel better, you must think better.  When you think better, you do better.  When you do better, you are better.   Become the best version of you!

Be strong, be wise, be delicious!
