FastTrac New Venture for Women

The Women's Business Center will be hosting a fall session of our business planning course just for women, FastTrac New Venture for Women. This program is an 10-week course designed to give participants a specific roadmap to starting their business while exposing them to subject matter experts and community resources to help them succeed.   Additionally, participants build lasting networks through the peer-to-peer relationships developed throughout the course.

 

Classes are hosted on Tuesday evenings from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Women's Business Center starting on October 8 and concluding on December 10. Enrollment cost is $450 which includes curriculum materials, facilitation and meals.

OneKC Celebrates Women in Business

This campaign is designed to build awareness of the importance of women in business - for the entrepreneurs, their employees and our community - and to bring attention to the resources OneKC for Women offers to women at all stages of their professional life.  

Women's Business Center Builds a New Partnership with NAWBO-KC

 

The Women's Business Center recently confirmed a new partnership with the Kansas City chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). NAWBO is a membership based organization specifically targeted to women business owners of all industries with over 80 chapters located in the United States. It's through a common vision to serve women in business that the WBC and NAWBO-KC identified an opportunity to partner to better serve the Kansas City community. 

 

Moving forward, WBC clients will see news and events offered through NAWBO promoted on our website and newsletters to expose you to additional ways to network and engage with other women business owners.

Nominations Open for the 25 Under 25 Awards

 

Thinking Bigger Business Media has opened it's call for nominations for it's annual 25 Under 25 Awards.  

  • Are you an outstanding business with 25 or fewer employees?  
  • Do you know an outstanding business that you'd like to nominate?  

Make sure you fill out the nomination form online before October 15. This is a great way for you to bring added visibility and validation (plus a little goodwill for yourself) to those small businesses who make Kansas City a great place to do business.  

Eileen Fisher to donate proceeds of sales Sept. 26-28 to the AWBC

 

The Women's Business Center, a member of the Association of Women's Business Centers (AWBC), is pleased to announce that Eileen Fisher, a brand synonymous with beautifully simple clothes, is partnering with specialty stores across the U.S. for its third Shop Local event September 26-28. Eileen Fisher will be donating 10% of event day's sales to AWBC.  The AWBC provides advocacy, training and research to help Women's Business Center's across the nation to better serve female entrepreneurs. So shop locally at either Kansas City Halls location or at Weaver's in Lawrence to find the Eileen Fisher fall collection.
