SLM Crew Grows Beards for St. Jude - SolidLine to Match Donations up to $2,500

It's November in Chicago and the leaves have either turned a beautiful shade of red and orange or have abandoned their limbs in the cold fall winds. As people are digging out their heavy coats and bundling up, the boys of SolidLine Media are bearding up, and with good cause. In support of No Shave November and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, several SolidLine Media team members, Greg Vass, Michael Kromm, Kevin Wright, Adam Marzec, Mike Petrik and John Courchane, are stashing their razors and cultivating their stashes for the month.

The official SolidLine facial-hair-growing team, SolidLine Media Beards, has set a goal to raise at least $2,500 by the end of the month, but they can't do it without you. We'll post an update weekly and a final facial hair photo at the finale of our bearded adventure, but in the meantime, feel free to follow our progress on our St. Jude's team page, spread the word and help us meet our donation goal. SolidLine will even MATCH any donations up to $2,500 so please help out today!

Stay tuned and please share our shaving page.

SolidLine Produces ':60 for Safety' Series for MedStar Health

Patient and associate safety is the number one priority at MedStar Health, the largest health system in the Maryland and Washington, DC region. Earlier this year, SolidLine began production on a series of weekly spots that each highlight a specific topic surrounding patient safety, high reliability, and transparency. The sixty second videos are sent to MedStar health providers and administrators each Monday morning as part of the MedStar Patient First mission.

"We are excited to be rolling out this new patient safety educational series to our associates," states MedStar Health VP of Quality and Safety David Mayer, MD. "SolidLine Media has played an integral role in the creation and launch of this important weekly safety reminder. They have been able to take our safety messages and create short, engaging videos that both inform and entertain, and are also within our budget."

SolidLine Media to Judge 2013 Aurora Awards

SolidLine has been name an official judge in the 2013 Aurora Awards video production competition. The competition features hundreds of commercial, promotional and training video productions from around the world. The judging panels are chaired by working film and video professionals, who are previous Aurora Award winners, from virtually every state across the US. The SolidLine Media judging team will rate the entries on a fixed scale in areas of creativity, message effectiveness and technical excellence.

"It is an honor to be asked to judge the work of our peers," exclaims SLM Production Coordinator Allison Miller. "We set our standards quite high here at SolidLine Media, so to be a judge for the Aurora Awards is a good fit."

2 Qs with SLM Writer Natalie Mueller

How has 2013 treated you, Natalie?

Quickly? Sure, it's not grammatically correct, but I think it's the most accurate way to describe such a fun but fast-paced year.

Any fun plans for Thanksgiving?

Instead of bringing a traditional dish to share, I'm making special meatballs for the dogs of the families and friends with whom I'm spending Thanksgiving. I'm pretty excited to watch my pooch go crazy over a warm meatball.
