SOLIDLINE HELPS CHANGE THE FACE OF BEAUTY

Founded by two local entrepreneurs and parents of a child with a disability, Steve English and Kate Driscoll, Changing the Face of Beauty is a campaign "To integrate individuals with disabilities into general advertising." Both actively involved in the disabled community, English and Driscoll couldn't help but notice the glaring lack of representation of children and adults with disabilities in the media, particularly in advertising. By combining their passion, business skills, and Driscoll's photography talent, they aim to change that imbalance once and for all.

So when SolidLine was asked to help put together a video highlighting this work, there was no question. SolidLine donated their Post Production department crew to edit together an inspirational piece for this special organization to help get the word out and spread the joy.

MEET THE CREW

2 Qs with SLM Director of Post Production Michael Kromm

How's Twenty-Baker's-Dozen (2013) going thus far?

This year is turning out great. Lots of fun and exciting projets happening.

What's the most stressful part of the job?

The most stressful part of my job is adjusting the post schedules. Deadlines are constantly changing so shuffling editors and motion graphic designers to meet those deadlines is a daily task.

ASK THE CREW

How do you relieve stress at SolidLine?

Mike Petrik, Art Director

Ever since Justin Younger I left, I no longer have my punching bag. So my stress has been bottled up since Thanksgiving. Stay clear of me.

Ed Boe, Director of Photography / Editor

Shark Week.

Kevin Wright, Producer

Why would I want to relive my stress? Oh, relieve stress? Ever see Office Space? Red stapler.

Marcus Leshock, Writer

I just ignore everyone, especially Ali when she asks these NewsReel questions.

Natalie Mueller, Writer

Embarking on an intense game of hide and seek... alone... without a designated seeker.

John Courchane, Editor

Whenever I feel stressed, I remember that I always have Thursday-Ska-Day to look forward to!

Adam Marzec, Motion Graphics Artist

I have Mike Petrik play the guitar for me... his smooth guitar licks really put me at ease.

Allison Miller, Production Coordinator

I use my aromatherapy, stress-relief lotion which no one really likes around here. So they stay away. Problem solved!

Chris Tracz, Winter Production Intern

I relieve my stress by creating stressful situations for my coworkers -- like hiding the toilet paper.

Michael Kromm, Director of Post Production

A walk usually helps.

Greg Vass, Executive Producer

To relieve stress I look at my upcoming schedule. Oh wait that's to add stress. Whoops.
