SOLIDLINE WINS DAVEY AWARD FOR NUTRI-VET SERIES
The Davey Awards has honored SolidLine's production work for Nutri-Vet in the 2012 International awards competition. The three motion graphics spots each feature a different line of Nutri-Vet pet care products and are hosted by Dr. Wellington, a custom 3d animated dog character developed specifically for Nutri-Vet.
"We are thrilled to hear about the Davey Award," states Nutri-Vet's Amanda Zumwalt. "We recently added the videos as a QR code on our product packaging, which can be found in Petco and other fine stores. But we can now call it an award-winning video and that's very exciting -- thanks SolidLine!"
With nearly 4,000 entries from across the US and around the world, the Davey Awards honors the finest creative work from the best small firms, agencies, and companies worldwide.
Linda Day, Executive Director of the Davey Awards also commented on the SolidLine award: "This year's winners truly represent a smart, nimble approach to creativity and embody the quick thinking, resourceful nature that make small agencies so unique."

Last Month's Puzzler
How did chili get its name?
A. It was invented in Chile
B. It's short for "chili con carne" or "peppers with meat"
C. Sir Humphrey Von Chili provided the first document recipe
D. You eat it when it's chilly outside
Congrats to last month's Puzzler Winner! Responding with the right answer was SolidLine fan and client Conrad Jooste of Excel4Apps. Conrad responded with the correct answer (B) winning himself a set of SolidLine-branded coasters, fleece, and hat. Congrats Conrad and thanks for playing!
The New Puzzler!
And so the tradition goes, this adorable little Elf on the Shelf serves as the eyes and ears for Santa Claus in households around the world. Every night the elves magically travel to the North Pole, reporting to Santa about who really falls under the categories of naughty or nice. But what makes these little elves so special is the variety of silly situations we find them in. Whether they're kicking back in the freezer, sneaking Christmas cookies, or zip-lining across the living room, these magical little creatures serve as another fun and exciting way to bring family members together during the holidays, and they are often considered a part of the family themselves!
The Question:
According to Elf on the Shelf, what's the most popular elf name?
A. Bernard
B. Rudy
C. Ginger
D. Buddy
Think you know the answer? Email your response into puzzler@solidlinemedia.com. If you're the first correct respondent, you will be rewarded with a SolidLine-branded coaster set, baseball cap, AND a warm and fuzzy fleece! Good luck and thanks for playing The SolidLine Puzzler!

MEET THE CREW

2 Qs with SLM Art Director, Mike Petrik
What SLM video did you enjoy working on most this year?
My favorite video this year was definitely Nutri-Vet. It was fun putting all the pieces together and getting our Dr. Wellington character just right.
What's your most favorite Elf on the Shelf prank you've pulled to date?
My kids love Elf on the Shelf! I'd have to say my favorite was when the kids found him dangling from a jump rope over the stairway.

ASK THE CREW
What did you ask Santa for this year?
Mike Petrik, Art Director
I asked Santa for a vasectomy. He responded asking for a list of doctors in my network. Excited to see what he comes up with on Christmas morning.
Ed Boe, Director of Photography / Editor
I asked Santa for a Santa costume so that I would be able to help Mike P through his difficult time with his vasectomy.
Kevin Wright, Producer
I asked for a vasectomy from Chuck Norris. It's painful but 100% badass.
Marcus Leshock, Writer
Rachael Ray Porcelain II 10 piece Blue Cookware Set.
Natalie Mueller, Writer
Snow! I've had enough of this global warming nonsense.
John Courchane, Editor
A king sized Snicker bar!
Adam Marzec, Motion Graphics Artist
I asked for World Peace.
Allison Miller, Production Coordinator
A personal label maker.
Broc Pachesa, Fall Production Intern
I asked Santa for a job.
Ryan Nice, Fall Production Intern
A Puzzlebox Orbit mind-controlled helicopter. I bet it can do vasectomies. But I don't want to think about it.
Michael Kromm, Director of Post Production
I asked for the Super-Fast Thermapen Instant Read Meat Thermometer.
Greg Vass, Executive Producer
I asked Santa for a Wonkavator. Would be cool to use it to get around town.
