The 'Revise and Resubmit'
When submitting your writing for publication in a journal, the best you can often hope for is to receive a "revise and resubmit" request from the editor. This means the reviewers and editor found value in your manuscript, but want to see revisions. After the revisions, the journal is willing to have you resubmit the manuscript for a second review. While there is no guarantee that the journal will accept the article after revisions, your odds are certainly better than if they rejected you! In today's post, I will share a few tips and suggestions for how to respond to a revise and resubmit from an academic journal.

What Is The Future of Membership Organizations? Does Being a Member Still Matter?
It's no secret that the demographics of the work force are changing. Millennials are now the largest generational group in the work force and they act a bit differently than previous generations. Aside from generational shifts, economic pressures, time pressures, and social awareness impact the choices of most active workers today, including researchers, practitioners, social scientists and all of the audiences served by mission-driven professional organizations today. Although people almost always tend to seek out groups of common interest, social media has also allowed individuals to do that without the aid of a formal organizational structure.

Your job interview went great, and the employer said you'd hear something soon. But it's been a week, your phone hasn't rung, and you're getting antsy to hear from them. When you're waiting to hear back about a job, time often seems like it's passing incredibly slowly, and each day of silence can be agony. But as anxious as you are to hear something, make sure that anxiety doesn't drive you to actions that will actually harm your chances. If, instead, you approach networking as a long-term investment in creating meaningful connections, it can help you build the career you want.
For Ph.D.'s seeking to pursue a nonacademic career, networking can be especially challenging, particularly if you are targeting an industry that is not uniformly distributed geographically.
