Postdoc Corner
by Jennifer Polk for PhD to Life

Every couple of weeks I host a Twitter chat using the hashtag #withaPhD. I pick a topic in advance (or have a guest co-host choose one) and come the appointed hour we see who's online and take it from there.

These Twitter chats are fun, engaging, and meaningful for me. I connect with graduate students, professors, and other working professionals with PhDs from around the world. We ask questions, provide answers, suggest and advise; we share insights and resources; we crowd-source information; we commiserate and celebrate. Anyone can join in or read our tweets, and I archive each chat using Storify.

The ND Postdoc Newsletter wants to share your research or article you have written with the ND Postdoc Community.  If you would like to submit an article for the newsletter, please email Kim Patton.

3 Lessons You Can Learn From This BuzzFeed Cover Letter
By  Elliott Bell  for The Muse

We see a lot of cover letters here at The Muse, from the good to the bad to the really, really ugly. But every once in a while, we see one that makes the entire office come to a complete stop, in a good way.

Today was one of those days.

Recent grad Amy Hill was looking for a way to stand out to companies as a lifestyle writer, so she turned her cover letter into a BuzzFeed article. Yes, actually published it on BuzzFeed, complete with amazing gifs.
