Postdoc Corner
NSBRI - First Award Fellowship Program

The National Space Biomedical Research Institute (NSBRI) is currently soliciting proposals for the 2014 First Award Fellowship Program.  NSBRI leads a national effort to conduct the integrated, critical path, biomedical research necessary to support long-term human presence, development and exploration of space and enhances life on Earth by applying the resulting advances in human knowledge and technology. 
 
The postdoctoral fellowship offers two years of funding, with a third year available.  The deadline for the submission is June 6, 2014.

Postdoc Office Summer Hours

I was recently chatting with a friend here in Toronto who's ABD and looking for full-time employment. He told me that when he "buried his degree" on his resume - placed education last instead of closer to the top - that he'd received much better responses from potential employers. Previously, his applications hadn't resulted in anything; now, he'd been on two interviews in the past month.

The University has entered into a relationship with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) to provide additional professional development training opportunities for faculty and postdoctoral scholars.  Our institutional membership allows all Postdoctral Scholars, Assistant Professors, and Associate Professors to participate in most of the programs without further cost.  Click here for more information.
