A lot of people have asked me "who should I follow, and which hashtags should I follow for academic content consumption". Like any summary, there will be obviously biases, and perhaps someone overlooked, but these are some of the curators of social media hashtags for academics I follow.

APA's New Career Fair

APA has totally revamped PsycCareers LIVE and the Employer Booths for the upcoming 2014 APA Convention. The new PsycCareers LIVE, in booth No. 370, will allow you to:
  • Access live career management sessions covering important tips for getting ahead.
  • Attend moderated panel discussions for insight into what employers really need.
  • Talk directly with employers and recruiters to see where your skills may be a fit.
  • Connect with prospective employers prior to and during the convention via PsycCareers.com, APA's Online Career Center.
  • August 7-10, 2014 in Washington, D.C.

National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity

 

The University has entered into a relationship with the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD) to provide additional professional development training opportunities for faculty and postdoctoral scholars.  Our institutional membership allows all Postdoctral Scholars, Assistant Professors, and Associate Professors to participate in most of the programs without further cost.  Click here for more information. 
 
Workshops from the Hesburgh Library

  • Workshop Series:  CDS + CSR Research & Statistical Tools Camp

The Hesburgh Libraries' Center for Digital Scholarship and the Center for Social Research are co-sponsoring a 

Research & Statistical Tools Camp that will provide introductory sessions open to postdocs, graduate students, faculty, and staff a variety of topics. Register for two full days, or select only a few sessions. You decide!

World on Tap

 

Wednesday, May 14, 4pm-6pm, Rohr's at the Morris Inn

International postdocs and graduate students are invited to The World on Tap, a monthly social at Rohr's. Free appetizers will be provided. The first 50 international students and scholars will also receive a free drink ticket valued up to $6. Please bring a valid photo ID.

Due to final's week, the May World on Tap will take place the second Wednesday of the month, rather than the first.
