September Summit 2015 recap
HIF honored Rod Standard with the Summit Award. Clyde Holland (pictured), asked the audience to make pledges on Rod's behalf.
The Marriott Waterfront in Burlingame hosted the sold-out gala, a fundraiser to help prevent homelessness in the Bay Area.
Alex Sheen inspired hundreds to donate an average of $490 toward HIF's programs.
It's tough to dispute that Silicon Valley is facing a housing crisis. Over 900 supporters of the Housing Industry Foundation gathered last month, raising money to renew a promise to combat the crisis.

HIF and our neighborhoods' most needy are grateful for the record-setting turnout at the annual September Summit, which raised $678,000 for the event - a 27% increase over last year.

This year's sold-out Summit honored Rod Standard, a long-time volunteer of the non-profit for always keeping his promises to the organization, and featured Alex Sheen, the founder of a grass-roots organization that urges individuals to keep the                                                                 promises they make.

"Over the last six years, each homeless person costs the public $83,000 annually in Santa Clara county," said Jake Harrington, HIF's Board president. "That's $6.1 billion in Santa Clara county alone. At HIF, our average housing assistance grant was $890 to save a family from becoming homeless. And our shelter renovation program triples ever dollar donated into professional-grade improvements."

The evening also remembered former Board member Chris Hanson and recognized its 26-year partner, Tri-County division of the California Apartment Association, for its support through their annual golf tournament.

Jason Morvay, HIF Secretary, urged the audience to support HIF programs like emergency housing assistance to prevent homelessness.
Many thanks to our sponsors, in particular: Holland Partner Group, HD Supply, Cort, PNC Real Estate and Woodmont Real Estate Services.
