FORT POLK, La.--Ratcliff Construction Company of Alexandria, LA. celebrated a ribbon cutting Tuesday, Jan. 13, of their latest project: the Louisiana National Guard Tactical Unmanned Aircraft Facility at Fort Polk.
The facility is a drone training base for the National Guard and will be used in support of the combat training missions at Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center.
"We congratulate Ratcliff on the completion of the facility," said Fort Polk Progress Chairman Michael Reese. "The facility will go a long way in setting Fort Polk apart when it comes to training. The Louisiana National Guard has been using Fort Polk for their UAV operations for several years now, as has the Texas Air National Guard, which comes from a base in Houston where airspace was too crowded for such training."
Ratcliff received LEED (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design) GOLD Certification for the construction of the facility. LEED is a national green building certification program that recognizes best-in-class building strategies and practices.
