ANNOUNCEMENTS
- Slides or notes regarding health care reform (including Medicaid) and EHR from the Executive Directors' Conference are available on the online community platform developed by Dr. Steve Horan. Please visit the platform for valuable information to assist your clinic with strategy development.
- Group Health Insurance Purchasing Survey is on the CD distributed at the ED Conference - if you are interested in working with VAFCC to purchase group health insurance and possibly other benefits, please contact Linda Pretlow (lpretlow@vafreeclinics.org or 804-340-3434)

Definition Change
At a meeting of members on Thursday, March 14, 2013, a vote was held to change the definition of a free clinic. Vote passed. Click here to read the new definition. |
Teleconference Number Available VAFCC will make one of its teleconference numbers available to members for clinic business, board conference calls or regional meetings. The teleconference number will be available to clinics for two hours per year at no charge. Additional fees may be incurred depending on the utilization by other clinics.

Deep Run Marathon Dance After more than 24 hours of dancing, costume contests and games, Deep Run High School in Glen Allen, VA, unveiled the total of five months' worth of fundraising by more than 800 students: $243,855. The Marathon Dance had raised $863,000 for 67 organizations since its inception in 2007. This year, organizers hoped to push the total beyond $1 million. They beat their goal by nearly $107,000. This year's event was held on March 16th. The money raised will go to 12 Richmond area nonprofits, selected by the students. The Richmond Area High Blood Pressure Center is one of the 2013 recipients!
