BDO Managing Partner
Becoming Active in Community Is Key to Leadership Success
"To be an effective leader, you need to recognize and embrace change and continuously strive to improve" says Morry Gottlieb, West Palm Beach Managing Partner of BDO, which is one of LPBC's community partners.
We asked Morry Gottlieb to describe the key influencers in his leadership development and how he helps to create great ideas in his company. One of the ways he grew as a leader: coaching Little League.

"Back on the Bus"
Reunites LPBC Classmates To Do Public Good
Last month, dozens of LPBC alumni and supporters got "Back on the Bus" for a behind-the-scenes tour of Palm Beach County. Veronica Helsby (Class of 1987) was one of them. She was amazed at how much she learned. Many new companies and organizations had opened since she graduated from LPBC nearly three decades ago. But one thing remained unchanged: the "selfless dedication of so many" in helping those in need.
She described her day on the bus here.

Caps & Cribs
Helps Teen Mothers Succeed in Life
One of last year's LPBC Civic Engagement Projects addressed the issue of keeping teen mothers in school. "Caps & Cribs" launched as a mentoring program through the Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies (HMHB) Coalition of Palm Beach County - and it has already changed the lives of several teen mothers. The program is expanding across Palm Beach County, with the goal of keeping many more teen mothers on a path toward success instead of on a road to poverty.
We asked Michelle Gonzalez (Class of 2011), who is HMHB's director of external affairs, to describe the "Caps and Cribs" project and how we all can support it.
