NEEDS IMPROVMENT BATTLE will take place on May 30 at 7:30pm in the Roberts/Dubbs Auditorium.

HELP US WITH THE AFTER THE PROM PARTY! Now that prom is just over a week away, it's time to rally the community to pull the final pieces together! Please sign up to help set up the party over the weekend of May 31 - June 2. We need literally hundreds of adults to pitch in if this is going to happen - volunteers have been working for months to create a "blast from the past," and all of these pieces need to be hung on the walls, tables need to be moved, and the entire Tappen Gym needs to be transformed! Please consider signing up for multiple time slots. We also need parents of non-seniors to sign up to chaperone the event! Once again, we need dozens of people to pitch in to ensure that this is a safe and exciting event for this year's prom-goers. This is not only an important contribution - but it's also a lot of fun. Staying up all night has never been so exciting! We also have yet to meet our fundraising goals - please donate to this year's party.

THE CHANGING FACE OF MARIJUANA With the legalization of marijuana in other states and the legalization of medical marijuana here in Massachusetts, cannabis is very much a part of our culture, and there is a shifting spectrum of attitudes. A recent forum bringing together Brookline students, parents, and school/health administrators and staff explored misperceptions, misinformation, warning signs of abuse and ways to prevent the development of marijuana abuse disorders among our youth. Check out B-PEN's new Parent Update on "The Changing Face of Marijuana: Revisiting the Conversation with Adolescents."

Anyone with a driver's license is eligible to participate in a program that gives you practice avoiding crashes while driving at high speeds (on a huge open stretch of pavement with nothing possible to crash into but some rubber cones). The course is run by a non-profit organization that trains law enforcement officers on safe driving. If the potential to save life isn't value enough, many insurance companies give you a discount for taking it, in many cases nearly covering the cost of the course. www.driveincontrol.org/cpt/. Get the added bonus to your driving and your experiences with your teen by taking the course together with your child.
