ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGY 101 FOR 9TH GRADE PARENTS Parenting Strategies for the High School Years. Wed. April 16, 2014, 7 - 8:30 p.m. Brookline High School Martin Luther King Room. Using humor and more than 30 years of experience, acclaimed parenting/child development expert Joani Geltman offers insight and strategies for navigating the early years at Brookline High School. Parents will learn about setting realistic expectations and appropriate limits, as well as how to identify and deal with teen experimentation with sex, drugs, alcohol, and the internet. You'll also have the opportunity to meet other parents and BHS social worker Mary Minott, who will be an invaluable ongoing resource for parents while their children are at BHS. She will be available for follow-up discussion on any questions raised by the presentation. Please sign up on eventbrite.

ONE HUNDRED PERCENT PARTICIPATION IS THE GOAL The PTO funds programs that benefit the entire BHS population yet only 20% of BHS families have contributed so far. The PTO supports innovative cultural programs such as Race Reels, movies and discussions about race and Musica y Cultura, the intersection of Latin culture, music and language. You can find a list of all the 2013/2014 grants here. Please donate here now! Any amount helps. Thank you to those parents who have already donated.
