Brookline High School - This Week
|
Dear BHS Parents,
Thank you to the families who have sent in their PTO donations. To date we have received contributions from over 200 BHS families. The PTO funds programs that benefit all students and would like to see 100% participation in the annual fundraiser.
Without your support, the BHS PTO cannot continue to fund important teacher and faculty grants and programs that benefit all students.
For example, with the funds raised last year, the PTO supported Performing Arts teacher, Carolyn Castellano, and her request for a Mackie Onyx 1640i recording board.
Here's an example of the fantastic sound that was produced and recorded, by Carolyn's students, at the recent Berklee HS Jazz Fest:

To continue to support and fund this year's BHS Teacher Grants, we need your help. Please make a donation in any amount to help the PTO.
Please donate today! Click here to donate: http://www.bhs-pto.org/ or drop a check in the mail to BHS PTO, 115 Greenough St., Brookline, MA 02446.
Sincerely,
BHS PTO Co-Presidents Nancy Parker, Stewart Silvestri, and Karen Sutton

TEEN DATING VIOLENCE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN Parenting sexually active teens can be tricky, not just for vulnerable girls, but for boys as well as teens in same sex relationships. Do your teens have all the facts? Do they understand the importance of protection? (One in four Brookline students are still not using condoms!) And do they realize that even with consent, intercourse when any party is under the age of 16 is grounds for statutory rape? The touching of private areas is also illegal -- if any party is under the age of 14, it is considered indecent assault and battery. If you know someone who may need help, contact Doreen Gallagher, 617.730.2713. For facts on teen sexuality, visit www.B-PEN.org's page on Teen Sexuality, and talk to your teen about safe, respectful relationships.
BROOKLINE READS PROGRAM On Wednesday, March 12 Brookline Reads presents "An Evening With William Landy", in the Brookline High School Auditorium at 7:00 pm.
BROOKLINE TEEN CENTER FUNDRAISER Saturday, March 1st from 7:00 - 10:30 pm. More information may be found on the teen center website.
