Brookline High School - This Week
BHS CLASS OF 2015 PTO MEETING Wednesday, January 8th, 7 - 8:30pm in room 410. Fran Kuehn will speak about Fostering Independence. Fran has a masters in social work and in special education. For the past 12 years, Fran has been a BHS School Social Worker; he is an adjunct faculty in the Simmons College school of social work where he teaches a class on providing mental health services to students in schools. Fran lectures on a variety of topics related to school mental health, and will be presenting at the Harvard Medical School/Cambridge Health Alliance conference on School Mental Health in late January. Following the discussion, we will have time to catch up with other parents--old friends and meets new friends. We have had many meetings this year, but mid-year is a good point for informality. If you would like, bring a beverage or a dessert to share.

NEEDS IMPROVMENT Friday, January 10th, 2014 at 7:30pm in the Robert Dubbs Auditorium. Brookline High School's talented improv troupe can make a mountain out of a molehill and turn a phrase inside out in the blink of an eye. The group's array of short and long-form improvisation skits require fast thinking, quick wit, and an ability to roll with the punches - not to mention a willingness to play the fool to often hilarious effect. This benefit performance gives you a chance to laugh 'til it hurts and lend a helping hand at the same time - bring a canned donation or two for Needs Improvment's food drive for the needy.
