RACE REELS PRESENTS "Somewhere Between" Wednesday, December 4th at 6pm (free pizza at 5:45) in the MLK Room. Questions of race, identity and heritage are explored through the lives of young American women growing up as adoptees from China. These four distinct individuals reflect on their experiences as members of transracial families. This event is free and open to the public. Please RSVP to Krissie@batv.org. SEX AND THE STUDENT Thursday, December 5th 7- 8:30 PM; MLK Room (open to parents in all grades) Sponsored by the PTO, with Amy Cody, Director of Parent Education, Planned Parenthood. Parents play an important role in communicating about sexual health and safe choices with our teens. This presentation will include strategies and tips for starting the conversations plus an overview of information about sexually transmitted infections and protection methods, healthy relationships and dating, and review the concept of mutual consent.

PTO STANDARDIZED TESTING INFORMATIONAL NIGHT - Save the date! Wednesday, December 11 7:00pm - 8:30pm Auditorium.
TROUBLEMAKER Save the date for the Freshman play! December 11 @ 3:30pm, Dec. 12 & 13 @ 7:30pm, Dec. 14 @ 3:30pm & 7:30pm in the Black Box Theater. This year's Freshman Play is Troublemaker, or, The Freaking Kick-A Adventures of Bradley Boatright! Directed by Summer Williams, the BHS Drama Society writes that "this zany, comic book stylized show promises to be super fun for everybody involved!"
THE BROOKLINE LITERACY PROJECT This tutoring program transports high school students once a week to BHS partner school, the Mather Elementary School, in Dorchester. The group is also involved in fundraising and hosts a world music concert near the end of the year. If your child is interested, the group meets in Room 346 on Thursdays, after school (snacks provided)! This is an opportunity to earn community service credit.
BHS INTRAMURALS Mondays, Wednesdays, and/or Thursdays 3:00-4:30. Soccer in the Pavilion with Mr. Epstein. Basketball in Gym 1 with Ms. Toney. Fitness Center with Ms. Sutton.
BHS 2020 PRESENTATION In September, Headmaster Deborah Holman presented the BHS 2020 vision at parent meetings. EFFICIENT HEAT SEMINAR If you live in a drafty home, suffer from high energy bills, or just want to learn how to go further toward energy efficiency at home, join us at an upcoming Town-sponsored Home Energy Seminar on Sat 12/7 10:30-12pm Putterham Library, 959 West Roxbury Parkway, Brookline. Refreshments will be served at this free Green Homes Brookline event sponsored by the Town of Brookline, Climate Action Brookline and Next Step Living. It is open to Brookline and other Massachusetts renters and homeowners. Already had a Mass Save home energy assessment?
