CONGRATULATIONS TO BROOKLINE HIGH SCHOOL HEADMASTER Deborah Holman, who won the Rotary Club's "Dancing with the Brookline Stars" on Saturday, Sept. 21, at Pine Manor College. Holman's charity was the Gretchen Underwood Scholarship Fund at BHS, which provides grants for student who need help paying for field trips, school materials and other educational expenses. All contestants, in addition to personal charities, raised money to support emergency food services in Brookline. A total of $85,000 was raised. See photo below.

SEEKING LAPTOP DONATIONS Did you just upgrade your computer to the latest and greatest and are in search of a place to donate your not-as-late and not-quite-as-great laptop or desktop?  For the fourth year in a row, I am coming to the Brookline PTO community in search of nearly up-to-date computers that could serve the learning needs of students who aren't able to afford their own. Last year, I was able to provide 17 terrific kids with 14 laptops and 3 desktops to make their school lives a whole lot easier.  You can bring donations to the main office at BHS or contact me and I'll find a way to come pick them up. Questions? Ideas about how to acquire more computers for students who need them? Please email me at Elon Fischer
