NEW BHS WEBSITE The new Brookline High School website provides information about the school and its resources for students and their families. The BHS "Information Booklet 2013-14" which you can access from the front page of the web site, contains information to help with the transition into the high school. The booklet contains calendars, contacts, opening day schedules, information on the cafeteria, transportation, PTO, Sagamore and more. The student handbook is also accesible from the front page of the web site.

DANCING WITH THE BROOKLINE STARS Headmaster Deborah Holman will be dancing in this Rotary event on September 21. This event raises funds for Deb's chosen charity, which is Brookline High's "Gretchen Underwood Fund." Gretchen Underwood is a former BHS administrator, and upon her retirement, her colleagues established the fund to support students in need of financial assistance. The fund allows BHS students to access the many rich offerings at the high school, regardless of financial need. For more information or to make a donation, please visit the event website.
SAVE THE DATE! TENTH ANNUAL COLLEGE ESSAY WORKSHOP for Seniors (Class of 2014) Saturday, September 28, 2013, 8: 30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sponsored by the PTO. Whether you have already chosen a topic and started writing or have not yet given the essay a thought, this free workshop will be helpful. Led by dedicated BHS English department faculty and supported by parent volunteers, students are grouped with peers who are at a similar stage of writing so that they may receive individual attention and feedback. In the past nine years, over 2,000 seniors have attended this workshop and found it effective. Parent volunteers needed! This is a one-day, one-time commitment. Please sign up to help students with their writing or to provide logistical support (help with set up the day before, sign in students and parents the day of, provide snacks, etc.).
BHS SEPAC (Special Education Parent Advisory Council) The Brookline High School Parent liaisons would like to extend a warm welcome to all the incoming families with students on IEP and 504 Plans and a welcome-back to everyone else. We urge you to consider joining our BHS Special Education Liaison email list so we can keep you informed about any upcoming meetings or share information that may be of interest to you as a parent or guardian of a student with special needs. For more information about SEPAC, to join our email list, or if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your BHS SEPAC & BHS Special Education Parent co-liaisons Wendy MacMillan or Mary Lynn Pergantis.
